In honor of National Sisters Day, August 7th, 2022:
The phone rang this morning before I got out of bed. It was an unexpected call from a dear friend who I knew has been going through a challenging time filled with big emotions. We call each other Sis, so I was happy and curious to see her name on my cell phone.
My friend wanted me to know how much she appreciates and uses the Inner Resources cards and that her card pick for the day was GRATITUDE with the messages, “Gratitude is possible even in the most challenging situations. Gratitude is medicine that heals.”
We continued to talk, sharing our stories and insights about our experiences being with our Inner Resources. “I now know I can come to myself for support vs. feeling I always have to go to others,” Sis said. “Wow!” I thought, “That’s big for her.” She continued to share, “When I read the words about GRATITUDE being medicine that heals and the wish, ‘May GRATITUDE bring you peace,’ I got the chills.” In that next moment I got the chills, being with my Inner Resource GRATITUDE as I appreciated the connection we were having about her experience.
The conversation evolved and I was filled with emotion (and even more gratitude) every time we landed on a new insight about the cards. “What if everyone could show up to life with their Inner Resources?” We paused, reflected, and agreed with great enthusiasm that “Our best selves would become mirrors for others in our presence to see their best selves.”
We ended the conversation filled with gratitude for our sisterhood. I’m really looking forward to my next conversation with Sis!
