As the year draws to a close, you might feel like you are scrambling to tie up loose ends before the holidays. In the midst of all the busyness, we hope you can find some time for a well-deserved break. Check out our blog for a quick mind-body strategy you can use today.
The Gift of QUIET
Inner Resource QUIET reminds us:
With QUIET I can rest from responsibilities.
With QUIET I can take time for myself.
No matter how busy your day is, give yourself the gift of one of our favorite movemindfully strategies — Legs on a Chair/Legs up the Wall.
Elevating your legs allows you to take a much-needed break while it relieves tension in sore muscles, improves circulation, and puts your body in a more relaxed state.
As you take a break with your legs elevated, think of one good thing that happened today. Did someone make you laugh? Did you get to spend time with a favorite pet? Maybe you got to eat something you really enjoyed. No matter how small (or big) this good thing is, notice how you feel when you think about it. Combining this restorative practice with positive thoughts is a great strategy to use before bed as it prepares both your body and mind for a good night’s sleep.
Inner Resource QUIET has three wishes for you this holiday season:
May you take time every day to be quiet.
May QUIET free you from distraction and stress.
May you feel refreshed and restored with QUIET.
