Winged Heart Yoga

Are you looking for a safe and welcoming community to explore a yoga practice?

Winged Heart Yoga might be the place for you!

Prior to becoming Lead Trainer and Director of Education for MoveMindfully®, I started Winged Heart Yoga in 2009. My community-based yoga classes were created for those of us that wanted to practice yoga, but felt intimidated by yoga studio and gym settings.

Over the years, Winged Heart Yoga has evolved into an incredibly inclusive and kind community for people of all ages. We explore how our yoga practice improves mind-body awareness and offers an opportunity to heal whatever needs healing in all of us.

Our classes are 60 minutes sessions offered:

  • Tuesdays 7 pm CST
  • Thursdays 12:30 pm CST
  • Saturdays 8 am CST

Prior to the pandemic, we rented space in two different churches in St. Paul.  Since COVID, classes have been offered exclusively over Zoom. Email chrissy@move-mindfully.com for Zoom access information. Once the churches open back up to in-person groups, we will offer hybrid classes that you can join in person or via Zoom.

As a teacher, my goal is to provide tips and information on how to use our mind-body connection to alleviate stress, improve sleep, and enhance our body’s innate healing abilities.

I truly believe that yoga is for everybody’s body. Meaning, there is no right or wrong way for our practice to “look.” When we strengthen our mind-body connection, we are able to find movement that works for our own body’s needs. All movements can be modified to work best for us. This encourages really listening to our bodies, which profoundly impacts our overall well-being.

I also lead a chair yoga session on Thursdays geared towards seniors. This class is free and is open to all. During the pandemic, these sessions have provided a much needed place for those of us that are feeling isolated to connect weekly and practice yoga together over Zoom.

I am a 200 E-RYT (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher), Energy Medicine Yoga (EMYoga®) instructor, and Tension/Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE®) provider.

A consistent yoga practice can improve our mental health and overall well-being. If you are looking for an inclusive, supportive environment to continue your yoga practice or have experienced MoveMindfully programming and want to explore yoga further, please join us!

First class is free and scholarships are always available to those that need financial support. Find out more at wingedheartyoga.com.
